Sources of information include federal and regional governments, foundations, professional societies, associations, and corporations. Scientist and scholar profiles in COS Pivot include contact information, links, positions held, publications, patents, funding received, and a first-person narrative describing current research activities and expertise.

University of Maine users should register for an account using a maine.edu email address, then claim and edit their own profile. Users should consult the Office of Research Administration when seeking and managing research grants, contracts, and other extramural funding. Please note: For many funding opportunities, there are limits to the number of proposals that may be submitted from a single institution. University of Maine researchers are responsible for identifying such limitations and following the University's Limited Competition procedure. The University of Maine may reject proposals that fail to follow this procedure.
